Family Return Psychosocial Support Modeling Project
“The ”Return to Family Psychosocial Support Modeling Project” is being implemented by the Koruncuk Foundation in partnership with the Belgian company L'accueil, with EU support, and under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' EU Presidency, within the scope of the Fifth Grant Period of the Civil Society Dialogue Program.
As childcare policies change globally, as our country's economic development level increases, and as policies prioritizing children's rights grow, the importance of social service models that focus on the child and family, aiming not only at providing care and intervention but also at prevention, is becoming increasingly understood. The Koruncuk Foundation continues to develop and update its practices according to changing needs, researching and implementing effective models in the field of social services and child protection in our country.
The Return to Family project, which started in our country in recent years, is designed to strengthen the process of returning children in institutional care to their families with economic support, to better understand the needs of families beyond economic support, and to make the return to family the safest and most sustainable process for the child.
This project, a continuation of the pilot study initiated by the Koruncuk Foundation in 2018 for children returning to their families, aims to examine reunification processes in European Union countries, to establish a more qualitative basis for these studies, and to contribute to the work of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services by creating a model suitable for our socio-cultural structure.
For over 40 years, the Koruncuk Foundation has been working to remove obstacles to children's rights by meeting their educational and basic needs. To this end, it supports children through various models including Koruncukköy, semi-independent homes, and family homes.
