The Koruncuk Foundation's Ordinary General Assembly Meeting took place.
The Koruncuk Foundation held its general assembly meeting for 2024. At the meeting, the Foundation's 2023 activities, financial statements, and the 2024 budget and work program were shared with the participants. The Koruncuk Foundation also welcomed new trustees who will bring value and vision to the Foundation with their experience and knowledge.
On Friday, March 22nd, the Koruncuk Foundation convened a meeting at the Swissotel The Bosphorus with its Board of Directors, trustees, prospective trustees, and stakeholders to discuss its activities and financial statements and to gather feedback. The meeting was attended by leading representatives from the business world who support the Koruncuk Foundation's social responsibility projects for girls and the community.
The General Assembly began with a commemoration of the late Mehmet Pınar Aran, one of the Foundation's Honorary Presidents, who passed away on November 6, 2023. The Foundation works to serve a society where children have access to their rights, grow up with love and security, and can continue their education without interruption.
During the meeting, the Foundation shared its activities and financial statements with stakeholders, including its work in the earthquake zone in 2023, in accordance with the principle of transparency.
In her address to the board members and stakeholders attending the general assembly meeting, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Koruncuk Foundation, Attorney Dr. Figen Z. Samuray, stated, “In many countries, including Türkiye, society negatively impacts the lives of women and girls, depriving them of their most important right, the right to education, and causing them to face obstacles in their education. Today, our greatest goal is to provide care services to our girls within a suitable housing capacity and to fully ensure their right to education.” Attorney Dr. Figen Samuray also stated that the Koruncuk Foundation will continue to work to ensure that girls become confident and courageous through its activities.
The General Assembly meeting concluded with the sharing of the Foundation's 2024 goals, which are designed to bring hope to children and strengthen their futures.
