The new dormitory building, realized through the collaboration of Koruncuk Foundation and Allianz, was officially opened.
A historic step was taken in the “A Girl for the Future” program, launched by the Koruncuk Foundation in collaboration with Allianz Turkey to provide a permanent and safe home for girls at risk of lacking access to education. The new girls' dormitory building, completed in a short period of 13 months, was opened on June 9, 2026, at a ceremony held in Koruncukköy Bolluca. The ceremony was attended by Arnavutköy District Governor Mahmut HERSANLIOĞLU, Arnavutköy Deputy Mayor Gökhan KURT, Koruncuk Foundation Board of Trustees and Chairman Dr. Figen SAMURAY, Allianz Group Board Member Sirma BOSHNAKOVA, Allianz Turkey CEO Tolga GÜRKAN, District National Education Branch Manager Selçuk ERTUĞRUL, Public Education Center Director Hakan ÇİFCİ, and guests from the Koruncuk Foundation and Allianz Türkiye.
“"We are creating conditions that will unlock the potential of every child."”
The opening speech of the ceremony was given by the President of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of the Koruncuk Foundation, Attorney Dr. Figen Samuray, who emphasized the foundation's child-centered vision. Stating that the Foundation, which has been working for children since its establishment, has focused on girls who face difficulties in accessing education since 2019, Samuray said, “Every child has potential, but not every child has the conditions to realize that potential. Therefore, we do not require any academic achievement when accepting children,” highlighting the importance of ensuring their educational journey continues uninterrupted. Samuray concluded her speech with the words, “Even a single girl who builds her life with her own decisions and stands on her own two feet is the very power that can change the world.”.
Samurai also thanked all the corporate and individual donors who contributed to the completion of the dormitory and supported the project.
“"This investment is a promise to accompany you on a long journey through life."”
Allianz Turkey CEO Tolga Gürkan, a key stakeholder in the education and future journey of girls, stated in his speech at the ceremony that they joined forces with the Koruncuk Foundation for girls at risk of dropping out of education following the February 6th earthquakes. Gürkan emphasized that this investment was not just a physical structure, saying, “We didn’t just build a building here; we promised to accompany them on a long-term life journey, starting from the entrance of the dormitory and culminating in university scholarships, mentorship, internships, and employment opportunities.”.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sirma Boshnakova, a member of the Allianz Group Board of Directors, pointed out that the newly opened dormitory was much more than just a building, stating that it was a symbol of belonging, continuity, and equal opportunity for girls. Boshnakova expressed her pride in being part of this joint effort with the Koruncuk Foundation.
A Safe Living Space Designed with a Holistic Care Model
Located in Koruncukköy Bolluca, the new dormitory building, approximately 2,230 square meters in size, was designed as an ecosystem that will fully meet the academic, psychosocial, and socio-cultural development needs of girls, not just their accommodation. The facility, which includes modern living spaces, study rooms, a library, a dining hall, and relaxation and social activity areas, will offer regular psychosocial support, individual counseling, and personal development programs to the girls by expert staff.
