The Koruncuk Foundation, which works to ensure that girls at risk of lacking access to education can take their place in society as confident individuals, opened the Koruncukköy Bolluca Girls' Student Dormitory, which it completed construction of, with a ceremony held in Bolluca, Istanbul on Wednesday, May 25th.

Koruncukköy Bolluca Girls' Dormitory was built on approximately 3,000 square meters over four floors to provide the opportunities and environment that the children need for their individual and socio-cultural development. The common areas, which have different functions such as a library, rooms, dining hall, laundry room, infirmary, and sports room, were designed to adapt to their daily routines.
Bolluca Girls' Dormitory will be a loving and safe "home" for Koruncuk children.
In his speech at the opening ceremony Honorary President of Koruncuk Foundation, Attorney Figen Özbek; “I am proud to be part of a foundation that has enabled hundreds of children to become well-rounded, confident individuals for 43 years. I am proud that we have presidents, managers, and employees who carry out this sacred duty with a deep love for children. I am happy that there are individuals and institutions supporting us in our projects. I am confident that together we will accomplish even more wonderful projects. Everything is for our girls!” she said.
They emphasized that they are the 'only foundation' in Türkiye that, in addition to providing care and shelter services in Koruncuköyler (children's villages), supports their socio-cultural development through artistic, cultural and sporting activities. Attorney Dr. Figen Samuray, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Board of the Koruncuk Foundation; “The Bolluca Girls' Dormitory will be a new “home” for approximately 80 girls, where they will live a life full of love and security. Inspired by the successes of our Koruncuk children, we know we are not alone as we continue on our path without slowing down. The architects, the project supervision company, the contractor, our valued corporate and individual donors, our honorary president, our board of directors, our trustees, our employees, our volunteers… all of you who contributed to the creation of this home are part of this project. The Bolluca Girls' Dormitory is the result of a collaborative effort with you, who share the goals of the Koruncuk Foundation. Thank you for being here.”.
