Marathon İzmir Provides Great Support to Girls at Risk of Losing Access to Education!
Koruncuk Foundation volunteer runners participated in Marathon İzmir to support girls at risk of lacking access to education. On Sunday, May 7th, at the 4th annual Marathon İzmir, Koruncuk Foundation volunteer runners, along with members of the Koruncuk Foundation Board of Directors, took to the stage to ensure that "girls at risk of lacking access to education can prepare for life in a loving and safe environment and attend the school of their dreams.".
The Koruncuk Foundation, which works to ensure that girls at risk of lacking access to education can take their place in society as confident individuals, participated in the İzmir Marathon. Koruncuk Foundation volunteer runners and members of the Koruncuk Foundation Board of Directors ran to support girls at risk of lacking access to education in achieving their dreams. The İzmir Marathon, boasting Türkiye's fastest course, took place for the fourth time on Sunday, May 7th, under the motto "Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Republic at İzmir Marathon," in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic. With a large turnout, 250 Koruncuk Foundation volunteers, including runners from 7 corporate teams and individual runners such as the famous film, television, and theater actor Çağlar Ertuğrul, took their steps for girls at risk of lacking access to education.
Underlining that girls' access to uninterrupted and quality education is essential for them to take their place in society as strong individuals in every sense. Attorney Dr. Figen Samuray, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Management Board of the Koruncuk Foundation. “We support the personal, academic, and psycho-social development of girls at the middle and secondary (high school) level who have limited opportunities to meet their basic needs, by providing free care and accommodation services in Koruncuk Foundation Girls' Student Dormitories without any prerequisite for academic success. Of course, we do all this support for our girls together. With our volunteers, individual and corporate donors, our board of directors, our trustees, our employees, and all our supporters who share our purpose, we are one big family. Today is a day when we feel this deeply. We wholeheartedly thank all the Koruncuk volunteers who ran in Marathon İzmir, both raising awareness about the importance of girls' access to education and collecting donations for the education of our girls. Reminding everyone that every support, big or small, is extremely important for the work of our Foundation, we look forward to your donation support for our volunteers running for the Koruncuk Foundation until May 22nd, when the fundraising campaign will continue.”.
